Honeymoon travels Pvt. Ltd. is about newly married couples on a package honeymoon to Goa. Exciting and cheerful, this vacation is a subsidized option for a lot of dreamers on the brink of their new life.

The film is woven around six couples, a guide, a driver and a handyman riding in a bus from Bombay to Goa. The narrative humorously unfolds different stories that explore the nature of love and human relationships. Woven into the hectic four day schedule is a radio show- “Pyaar ke Lamhe”.

The jockey plays the role of an omniscient narrator and discusses individual characters, revealing secrets about them and their past.

From the time the bus leaves Bombay, a man on a bike follows them all the way to Goa. We don’t know who this mystery man is. He is dressed in leather and a helmet throughout, until one day…

Partho and Milly from the suburbs of Calcutta. He is a bit stuck up and unadventurous, with an immature sense of morality. She is more fun loving and willing to explore. They are the classic battle of the sexes.

Oscar and Nahid are an elderly couple from Bombay. Oscar is a Goan who wants his wife to see the place where he was born and brought up. These are two people who have rescued each other from difficult, sad and hopeless situations and have given each other a new beginning. They seem a bit out of place in this group of young honeymooners. One day Oscar takes his new wife out alone- Goa style- on a bike.

Aspi and Zara from Dadar Parsi colony are the perfect couple. They met and fell in love at age eight and have not had a single argument ever. They are wrapped in a cocoon of their own world where they need not exchange words to understand what’s on the other’s mind. All the other couples comment, with a little envy, on their compatibility but no one can guess their secret.

Pinky and Vicky from Delhi, Pinky is a small time beautician and a big time fashion victim. She is extremely influenced by Hindi movies in her ideas of life and love and is doing everything possible to have the honeymoon of her dreams. Vicky on the other hand is disturbed and aloof. There is something on his mind that he is trying to come to grips with and is not ready to share it with Pinky.

Madhu from Bombay and her NRI husband Bunty. Madhu is a working professional from Bombay who has met her husband on the internet. Bunty an NRI from LA has come down and married her at once. They get along perfectly and are very well matched. Well, maybe too well...

Hitesh and Shilpa from Surat, Shilpa weeps holding on to her mother, not wanting to go on her honeymoon. Her father explains to Hitesh she’s never been away from them before. Hitesh assures him she’ll be back with a smile on her face, words that in retrospect will be uncannily ironic.

The nature of each story is different and juxtaposed with each other, throws up a colourful palate of relationships that are real and refreshing.

The questions it throws up are what is love? Is it a constant battle of the sexes to exist in harmony; Is it companionship and support; Is it convenience; Or Mad undying passion; Is marriage something one has to do and make the best of life? Does love break barriers when you find that one person who is made for you? Or is it perfect union, almost too good to be true? There are no sure answers. The only thing certain is that love is the only true happiness there is and if you find even a shred of that truth and that love in your life then it is worth fighting the world for.

The course of the honeymoon, however, does see each character come to a realisation or make a resolution that helps them find love or peace with their respective companion. The couples head back with a happier dynamic than what they arrived with. A bittersweet comedy on love and relationships the film ends on a feel good optimism that love is the only solace in a difficult world.
